Bryher Boat Services operates from Bryher and Tresco – two of around 200 islands, great and small, that make up the Isles of Scilly. England’s only archipelago, the islands are 28 miles from Land’s End.
Bryher and Tresco lie among four other inhabited islands – St Mary’s, St Martin’s, St Agnes and Gugh. About one-and-a-half miles long and less than three quarters of a mile wide, Bryher marks the north-western perimeter of the Isles of Scilly.
Bryher, meaning 'place of the hills', is characterised by its landscape. From Samson Hill in the south to Shipman Head Down in the north, Bryher rolls up and down as much as 40m above sea level.
Tresco, the other side of New Grimsby Sound, also has a character of its own from. It contains the beautiful Abbey Gardens as well as fantastic facilities and accommodation owned and run by the Tresco Estate.
Bryher Boat Services is a family-run business, very much at the heart of the island’s community. In the summer months, one of the four passenger craft of Bryher Boat Services can almost always be spotted in the channel, transporting visitors and locals from Tresco and Bryher to any number of island destinations.
